Sometimes students are assigned with groups Project that are meaningless for them because they think the topic is irrelevant. Moreover, they do the assignment just “because”, but the worry is that even they present it, students have not learned anything about the topic and it is clear that the project work was not effective. Furthermore, teachers need to increase students motivation by taking in to consideration the following steps presented in the article of this week.

5.    Students gather information: Students collect the data by interviewing, library researches and others.
6.    Instructor prepares students to compile and analyze data: Students analyze and synthesize the information they have collected.
7.     Students compile and analyze information: Students organize the data and then discuss the value of it.

  1. Hello Vanessa!
I like the way you summarized all the steps to develop a meaningful project activity in order to achieve Language Learning. As a matter of fact, it is important to keep in mind those steps when creating a Class Project. In my personal opinion I had had a misconception about class projects and other kind of activities whose focus seem not to be Language. However I just learned that projects helps to develop a real use of the target language when the instructions of the task are very well delivered. Let me ask you something, If you were teaching kids or teenagers, would you use class projects to teach English?
Thank you for your post because I think it is helpful to have all the steps wrapped like that. See you later!

  2. Hello Vane, i was reading your blog and i focused in this article, since I really caught my attetion the way How you summarize the steps of class prjects. In my opinion I think that is neccesary that we as teachers help students in class projects. I think that to implement a project we need to focus and How students will acquire the project? if they understand? and How they will develop it? for that reason I think that we need to analize the project at first to enhance students to do it.
